With his most financially successful year behind him and his popularity and marketability at its highest, He is in a NEGOTIATION battle with Oscar. You don't change your moniker to Money May and then 4 months later turn down the most lucrative fight and least dangerous fight(ala Cotto, MArg)of your career.
Oscar is reknown for being a shrewd business man and this is bluff by PBf for 2 causes:
1) to stir water cooler talk and to reiterate to Golden Boy Promotions that his popularity is at its highest. (when was the last time they ran a Breaking News banner on a boxers retirement that was oscar or a HW.
2)to indirectly give Oscar a **** you. Oscar want s to fight the best before he retires and also make so loot, PBF is sadly that guy in boxing (makes me sick to even type that).
PBF is not afraid of Cotto but is def well aware hat he poses the mot danger to him and his so shoe shined overrated undefeated record.
* By next week a contract will be all but signed...........
