Any bets on how long till he comes out of retirement? I'd say less than a year, but two years max.

I think he's just hoping someone will offer him outrageous money to "come out of retirement."

I guess I can understand.. If you no longer have the passion after so many years of doing the same thing and no longer have love for it why continue to do it? Boxing is a hard thing to have as a career especially the long nights in the gym.
I still wish he would have gave us the best fights at junior welter and welterweight and that has always been my beef with him.. that he did not do this. The legacy could have been better and his name could have been bigger. I guess its for the better though since he doesn't love the sport and has been a selfsih prick that he doesn't go down like what he could have been in the sport of boxing... I can't really say I will miss Mayweather but it does suck that we never saw what was his full potential.

If this is true and you never step foot in the ring, it will probably be a lot better for the sport anyway.. finally the best will fight the best.

But good bye Mr. Mayweather.. it was fun being frustrated at you while it lasted lol

I said it before If he fights De La Hoya, Cotto, and Mosley he will be the best under 154 ever. If not he might rank in the top 10 under 154 ever. Just because he didn't fight the main guy in his division before he left. COTTO.

            There's a finality about this I can't dismiss.

That's unlike all you *******s calling him a coward. You wouldn't last half a minute in the ring with Floyd. Slightly longer, perhaps, with his opponents. He is a great fighter, but not a popular champion. Some of you seem to think you can't be great without being popular. Not the case. His speed, reflexes and power were awesome. I for one feel privileged to have watched him fight (albeit on television). I hated the guy in the heat of competition, and was devastated with what he did to Corrales and Hatton and Gatti, but I respect his skills to the utmost.

Well done Floyd. Enjoy your retirement. Don't come back. You've nothing to prove to no-no-one.

            It was an experience.

Oscar should now fight the cotto/margarito winner in september and winky wright in december. Floyd's gone now and in due time oscar will be gone too. Things are looking up.
