My personal preference would be for him to go after Dawson and Tarver since they hold the other LHW belts and it would be awesome if he could partially unify the belts at LHW like he did at SMW, it would really be a pretty incredible achievement to have done that and I think at that point people would have to start talking ATG list about Joe.

Won't happen though, so of Pavlik and Jones I pick Pavlik since its the tougher fight against a prime champ. Hopefully we'll see both, it would be cool if he could end his career with a win over Jones, even if it doesn't mean much.

better question is who he should've fought 5-10 years ago.

hopkins was what 42? roy is what 40 now? tarver? zzzzzzz

too bad we never got to see joe fight hop a long time ago or if joe had unified 168 earlier...... the unified 168 vs. the unified 175 against jones. unified 168 against vs. unified 160 against hopkins.

          He should fight Gary Lockett.

I would be rooting against Joe in either of those match-ups though...
And when he beats Pavlik they'll say he was too young, and green, and shouldn't have been in the ring with Calzaghe anyway. Or that Calzaghe was lucky, or whatever else they can think of. It never ends, why worry? After the Lacy dismantling and destruction, they were saying the same thing. "He was too young and green, too inexperienced, that's all, he'd have taken him in another year, after maybe 2 more fights". Seriously, the craziness never ends. There were guys who were predicting an EASY win by Lacy, early KO, abject humiliation, destruction of career, when Lacy met Calzaghe. I remember chuckling about it all the while thinking that 20 odd fights just ain't enough experience, and that Lacy didn't have much of a chance (said so here somewhere, too). Then after the fight you could've heard a ****ing pin drop. For about 30 minutes, and then the "Lacy was overrated, he was a bum, his career was padded, he was too inexperienced, he had an off night, he had a hangnail", whatever. Anyway, don't bother worrying about what that crowd thinks or says. It doesn't matter.
