    The Truth About Winky!

    Hes not getting Abraham

    Hes not getting Sturm

Hes not getting Kelly, because of Calzaghe.

Conclusion: he won't fight until mid 2009!

Unless anyone has any inside info?

It really is a shame, Winky's still such a great technical boxer and can beat big names at Middleweight, and I think he has a good chance to beat Pavlik too, his chin is underrated and Wink can take a punch.

This situation reminds me of Ron Borges commenting about Winky after the Vargas fight:

"A.) I don't want to fight him. B.) I have increasing proof that I don't want to fight him, because he'll make me look horrible, and C.) he lost a fight, so I don't have to fight him."

The Winky situation is pretty simple really.

1: Winky wants a big fight
2: No big name wants Winky. Too much risk and too little reward. He brings no title and no ppv's.

Problem is that Winky alone cannot headline a big card on HBO since he does not have that kind of following and he doesn't have a title to bring to the table.

              I find that amusing.

That Miranda can headline a card.

              And Winky can't.

Winky is 5 times the fighter!

              Weird to me.

Well when you compare the fan friendly style of Miranda to the very technical, often frustrating style of Winky, it makes perfect sense.

                  Perfect sense?

That a technically gifted fighter, can't draw a crowd. Yet an untalented powerful brawler can?

To me thats a problem. It shows that boxing fans aren't true fans of the art of the sport. There fans for pain, mayhem and raw entertainment. Those fans probably watch just as much MMA as boxing.

                  ?

                  Just a thought.
