    Casamayor vs Marquez?

Boxing*******.com is reporting that a mid-October pay-per-view bout between Joel Casamayor and Juan Manuel Marquez is being planned by Golden Boy, which would then leave Juan Diaz to face Michael Katsidis in September in Houston, Texas.

With all this, Nate Campbell's new WBO mandatory would be Joan Guzman.

For all this talk of Campbell-Casamayor and just who is the real ruler of the lightweight division, I don't think anyone can argue that these are some pretty good fights that are taking place in what is a very fertile division.

These fights should have been made a long time ago. They should make it HBO instead of PPV unless they're stacking all 3 fights together.

I pick Marquez over Casa, Katsidis over Diaz, and Campbell over Guzman

LOL, Marquez and Guzman are trying to corner Pacquiao, but it looks like they are going to run into some stiff opposition first. I could see Marquez losing to Casamayor.

Diaz-Katsidis is pretty pointless as the winner is going to have to wait a while to ever get a shot.

We really need Casamayor-Campbell to happen before anything, but if they both win, it won't matter. Funny that the most important fight brings the least money.

A win for JMM would definitely give him some leverage in gettting a Pac fight again. I think Marquez would beat Casa. It would be a nice fight against two pretty crafty veterans.

talk about the best division in boxing wow, those are some very good fights, as i've said in the past boxing is doing great and theres more then one division that is exciting.

Marquez v. Casamayor is going to be a great technical fight that may end up being a brawl. I would this fight happens very tough fight for Marquez as Casamayor has been up against the bigger fighters. Very good fight right here. And if those other fights take place boxing is in shape.

Great fights, All 50/50's in my opinion and that just makes it all the more juicy!
If Pac is the prize he is in trouble - Guzman would **** him, Marquez for my money has already beat him twice, and the other guys would all have a great shot too! Division is off the chain!!!

Juan Diaz-Michael Katsidis could be FOTY. I think Juan could win it big, but Katsidis has a punchers chance with anyone. And it will be entertaining, with Juan outlanding him and possibly ending the fight on a cut.

I think Casamayor will give JM a ton of trouble with his movement. It's real difficult to box behind a jab and control the fight against a guy with such lateral movement and who shimmies along the ropes and counters like Joel. That's why he's never been dominated. The Corrales rematch was a win for Diego but if you actually watch that fight with the sound turned off its virtually an even fight. So many of Diego's jabs just simply dont land. But it appeared like he was controlling the fight to many people, and consciously not warring, so he got the nod.

Plus also Marquez is not a particularly big puncher, isn't in-your-face aggressive, and he fights at a tempo Joel likes. And at 135 you never know how Marquez is going to look, I think he struggles in this one.
