Margarito would've beaten Zab that night too

Marg had 2 losses when he was like 17yrs old, then lost contraversial decisions to Santos. Williams beat him fair and square. How does that equate to him losing everytime he steps up?

Baldo dared to be great, got his one big payday, and where is he now????????
    Agreed.

Look, I can understand if someone feels Margarito isn't that good. But I don't know how you can be a fan of the sport and not give him his just due.

Save for Golden Johnson, he's fought Clottey, Williams, Cintron and now Cotto in succession. You HAVE to respect that. So whether he's being ducked or not, he certainly has proved himself willing to take on all comers.

he took those fights because he had to, floyd had the exact same type of run before he became a superstar, margarito basically has to fight whoever they put in front of him because his lack of leverage forces him to take fights of that nature.

Im not familiar with the history of floyd's career but wasnt he jumping from 140 to 147 when he fought Baldomir?? Why would any sane boxer's 1st choice of opponent be to jump 2weights and 15 lbs 4 a title as opposed to jumping only 1 weight for a title or fighting the #1 contender at his own weight??

if thats kid logic, then im the ****** n!gger i always thought i was.

just like cotto i might add, hes having a great run, with great competition because he has to build himself up so that in the near future, at this point, he can gun for mega fights exclusively, so that every fight hes in is an event. judah/mosley/malignaggi/margarito is a perfect way to do that.
You misunderstood. I'll say the same thing this time with a comma.

              And that kids, is logic.

              IT WAS A COMPLIMENT.

one last thing id like to add was that in many ways, the dynamic of what happened then and whats happening now all end up under the same umbrella. you can ask all you want, but you cant change what happened. the motives of fighters and their motivation for their actions cant really be understood until the fighters themselves reflect on their desicions long after their careers are over. its a shame because basically, no matter whats said in this thread, it wont change what happened, it wont change the worthless fight september with the rematch and it wont change my opinion that winning the undisputed title does do something for someones career. granted a test for mayweather like margarito would have been great, if he didint fight baldomir, and fought margarito, there is no garuntee you wouldnt be asking why he ducked baldomir, if someone like miguel cotto ended up fighting him instead. this question would be even more glaring if mayweather easily dominated margarito.

He was actually agreeing with you, He meant to say "And That Kids is logic".

Marge is a harder puncher..but he HAS TO BE SET...

                      Baldomir doesn't.

                      Baldomir is the STRAIGHTER puncher..

                      Look

You don't know if Tony would have beaten Judah..hell..he's NEVER beaten a fighter of Zab's calabre

                      You're just ASSuming.

The Santos decision was not controversial..STOP LYING

Baldomir is a lot older than Tony..that's why he's gone away.

He dared to be great..now he's rich..and getting paid sparring with Money Mayweather..
