Golden Boy Promotions is currently quite bad for boxing. It's a big pot of money where the owners of the pot mix themselves in all the big fights and sell it like it's must-see TV/PPV. I defend their right to do so politically, but it adds zero credibility to the sport. Oscar, Shane & Bernard Hopkins aren't any different than Kevin Nash writing himself into the WCW storylines in the late 1990s. No wonder the casual fans think boxing is crooked. We fans all know it too, we just use our cognitive dissonance because we love the sport. Articles like this are a reality check.

if cotto beats tony i dont see the problem with a 2nd mosley fight. floyd WILL NOT fight the man. he talking bout fighting hatton after dlh. so whats the fuss about. imo shane deserve a rematch.

I remember DLH saying that the Mayweather-DLH fight was the fight to save boxing; an attempt to bring a solid exciting matchup to boxing again. Ironically the rematch is in the public's least interest and is the exact converse of the purpose of last years fight. It's unfortunate that GBP is taking the path it's on currently. Once all their stars retire though we may see a change in how they do business but I feel like this is DLH's, Mosley's, and Hopkins last attempt to milk the sport for everything its worth before they bow out.

One of the best articles I've certainly read on here, or on boxing full stop possibly. I was starting to lose faith that the media, sites, ppl etc. didn't have the guts to talk frankly about the true effects of Golden Boy Promotions, and I'm reassured BoxingScene has written such an article, GBP is little by little being exposed, and it could do with beefing up a little really. In most other sports there'd be a lot more safe guards against monopolising like this.

GBP is the result of a foreign banker and overhyped/overrated boxer running a promotional company. There is one thing on their minds and its MONEY! AS true fans we have 2 take a stand and BOYCOTT the BS they try 2 put in front of us. I say we go for the Jugular. That being HBO! Lets let HBO know what we will and won't tolerate because GBP has 2 sell the BS 2 them first! I'm a true PBF fan but come on! Enough is enough! We want real champions facing each other regardless of who they do business with or who they are promoted by!

I am boycotting mayweather vs de la hoya 2. These fights if u can call it a fight are very bad for the sport. I went to watch vazquez vs marquez 3 in person, thats a real fight. All gbp wants is the money. Iam going camping the weekend of de la hoya mayweather match! I won't miss much.
