I've only seen one of Lockett's fights, but in that one he always came forward aggressively, trying to KO his opponent. He's not a defensive-style fighter as far as I know.

This will be an entertaining fight I expect, perhaps similar to Pavlik vs. Zuniga.

Kelly said in an interview today that he wants to win "impressively".

I think that Lockett will suprise a fair few.

What you have to remember, is that he has the perfect sparring partners for this fight.

Calzaghe has a better workrate than Pavlik, and can push Lockett harder for longer. If he would be able to fight orthodox (being one of the most adaptive fighters alive today, I'm sure he could) he could simulate pretty much exactly what Pavlik is able to do. Calzaghe has a better right jab, if his left is only half as good as his right, he would still be able to throw a jab as good as Pavlik.

Enzo Macc can simulate Pavlik's power, and better it if they really feel the need to do so.

Is there really much else that Pavlik does?

Now I'm not going to say that Lockett will beat Pavlik, but I doubt he will be the walkover that Pavlik's fans think he is.

I've heard that Lockett is very durable, so I'm predicting his corner will stop the fight after nine lopsided rounds.

I might not bother, I sense a fight similar to Macca vs Haye which would be a waste of time to stay up and watch.

and what do you base that on? He hasn't KOed anyone in the late rds in years and Pavlik throws just as hard in rd 12 as in rd 1
