Emile has issues with dementia. But his being gay has been pretty much common knowledge for over 40 years now.

Griffith's problems stem from a hate crime while leaving a bar.

I don't think Griffith's sexual orientation has anything to do with him as a fighter. If anyone feels different about him because he's gay then they're too blinded by biases to give anyone a fair shake.

I've known Emmile for a couple years now and know him to be a very kind and gentle man. He's one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Even in his present capacity he enjoys working with children at local gyms and donates his time to raising money to keep inner city gyms open.
