Shaun George is calling out Glen Johnson.
He says "a little girl" is the best way to describe Johnson, always crying over his losses.
Shaun also says if given the chance, he will go to Wales and defeat Joe Calzaghe in front of his home fans.
It's not uncommon for fighters to move up in weight. To move down in weight, however, is something less usual. Moving down TWO divisions at once is almost unheard of. That's why former world champion Chris Byrd (40-5-1, 21 KOs) had the attention of the boxing world as he tried to go from heavyweight to light heavyweight.
It was supposed to be step one in his much ballyhooed takeover of the 175lb division. His opponent that night, Shaun George (17-2-2, 8 KOs), however, had other plans. George was determined to show the world that he was no "opponent" as he punished the former heavyweight champion in every round up until he knocked him out. ********* got a chance to speak with the spoiler Friday night in San Antonio, as he was there to cheer on fellow Lou Duva stablemate Oscar Diaz.
George said he's not looking to sit back and enjoy his victory for long. He's anxious to get back in the ring right away and has his sites set on Glen Johnson.
"Chad Dawson beat him," said George. "Dawson was putting rounds in the bag early on. You lost in your own hometown, get over it. Every fight [Johnson] has, he has something to say about it. He is a complainer, like a little girl. Ya, that's right, that is the best way to describe him. A little girl. If he has a problem with what I am saying, tell him to do something about it. He says that he cannot find anyone to fight him. I will fight him."
Regarding his victory over Chris Byrd, George said that he was not surprised at how he dominated the former heavyweight champion. "I have been studying Chris Byrd since he was a middleweight. I knew his every move." When asked if he took it personally how he was brought in as a hand-picked opponent, he admitted, "At first I was angry, but then I got focused hardcore about a week before the fight. Then I used the fact that he was looking past me to add fuel to my fire for the fight. I made him pay for it."
George mentioned he has a dream fight. "I will fight the best fighters in the world. However a fight with Joe Calzaghe is my dream fight. I will go to Wales, fight in front of 60,000 people, and I will beat him!"
