The Sport or the Athlete/Team to the viewer..??
Since I know some of you guys hate to read post longer than 3 sentences here is a 5 part summary of the thread...pick a part of the thread and respond. or reply to the summary
5 Part Summary if u dont want to read the thread..:
Part 1: The Reason Why People Watch Sports
[*]People like watching People do things they themselves can not do because if they could do themselves they would not watch it

The Reason Why People Watch Sports
The Sport itself is not what drives people to watch...!!!
The people who plays the Sports is the main factor for viewership...!!!
Because if that wasn't the case nobody would watch other people play a sport that they could play themselves.
They would just play it themselves because they were only draw to the sport and not it's players......!!!!
But you know what happens to make people watch...!!!
People like watching People do things they themselves can not do because if they could do themselves they would not watch it....

The idea that If you watch a sport because of an athlete or the team more than they do the sport itself that you are not a fan is bull****.
Let me make this point very clear...

Why cant people have favorite fighters and also like boxing...

How Does Somebody not like the sport in which their favorite athlete plays
The idea that if you are a avid supporter of one athlete over every other athlete in the sport...
In some ways mean that you support that athlete over the sport. Is dumb, ******ed, and not intelligent.!
For Instance:
- I guess people who say Micheal Jordan is the best ever are just Supporters of him and are not fans of basketball
- I guess people who say Barry Sanders is the best running back ever are just Supporters of him and are not fans of football
- I guess people who say Tiger Woods is the golfer ever are just Supporters of him and are not fans of golf
- I guess people who say the Yankees is the best team ever in baseball are just Supporters of them and are not fans of baseball
- and Finally for people who say Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer alive are just Supporters of him and are not fans of boxing...
Where does this rational comes from...??? "Mars"
Fans are going to be Fans of there favorite team/Athlete that doesn't Mean that they dont like the sport that their team/Athlete plays for.

History of Why the Athletes make the Sport
When Micheal Jordan retired and NBA Rating DROP DRASTICALLY...I guess those people really didn't like basketball huh..?

or Maybe The NBA didn't have another player like Jordan, to keep the fans still wanting to watch the game...BECAUSE FANS WATCH THE GAME TO BE ENTERTAIN AND see things they themselves can not do .
And who was the most entertaining person at the time: Micheal Jordan
Who can could more things the average person could not more than anybody: Micheal Jordan
That's why THE NBA always had to find the next Micheal Jordan to replace him... And they always Fail because There is no substitute for an orginal.... They are only Comparisons.
Like the old saying goes
You can not replace the Sun with the Moon. although they both bring light into the world.
And in the NBA's case you can not replace Jordan, with Kobe Bryant. Although they both bring the excitement and shine to the NBA. Jordan brings with him something that that Kobe could never bring. Undeniably.
Jordan is the Sun, While Kobe is the Moon.
So when Jordan retired from the game, so did his fans. But unlike Jordan the fans can still come back for their whole lifetime.

3.Terrell Owens = Football
4.Oscar De La Hoya = Boxing
5.Floyd Mayweather = Boxing
6.Barry Bonds = Baseball
7.Dale Earlhart Jr= Nascar
So if people who Play the Sport is Obviously the reason why people watch the sport.

So how can you not like boxing if your favorite person is apart of boxing...??
