Who do you think preformed better against Joe Calz?

Well Hopkins made Calzaghe look like dog**** and there are a fair number of people that aren't idiots that thought Bernard won. Kessler was competitive for the first 4 rounds or so, but wasn't in the fight after that until the 12th round. I'd say Bernard.

Kessler was afraid to take risks against Joe. He would not deter from his game plan and made it somewhat easy for Joe.
Hopkins created much bigger puzzles for Joe, but was just old and tired and Joe squeaked it out.

Kessler showed some very nice offensive ability and great heart, but I vote Hopkins for the way he managed to completely frustrate Joe's gameplan in the early rounds and then even when Joe started to get his number a little bit more, still prevented Calzaghe from having it all his way, making Joe's superior workrate less relevant than it normally is. No other fighter on the planet could have done what Hopkins did in there, so that has to be the better of the two performances for me.

Hopkins. Joe was able to do enough to win, but he never landed anything significant and had a hard time executing any type of sustained offensive attack.
The fight was never out of question for Hopkins in my opinion. I thought Joe won the fight 115-112 or 114-113, but Hopkins was never too far behind.
On the other hand I thought Kessler fought more admirably. Calzaghe/Kessler was a great match to watch. Both guys were fighting very hard, both were determined to win. Kessler just wasn't able to adapt to what Joe was doing down the stretch.

Hopkins easily. He frustrated Cal the whole fight and Cal wasn't able to beat him to the best of his abilities.

Hopkins only came so close to winning because of the stylistic match up being very bad for Joe.
As far as the actual performance goes, Hopkins was ****. Joe didn't win the fight through being active, Hopkins lost the fight through being too inactive. That is NOT a good performance at all.
Kessler by a country mile.
