Kimbo should call it a career.

I did not realize Kimbo is 34 yrs old.

He looked it tonight against what can only be described as a journeyman fighter. Don't get me wrong, Thompson showed a lot of heart and took it big time to Kimbo, well ahead on any fair scorecard.

Kimbo was out when the 2nd rd bell ended. He had not responded in the last 20 secs to Thompson blows while Kimbo was pinned.

He recovered between rounds and landed a punch that opened up Thompson's horribly cauliflowered ear and the fight stopped.

It they were going to stop the fight based on Thompson's ear, they should have stopped the thing in the opening seconds when it was flying all over the place.

Kimbo is an internet hero. He's probably made more money in the past year than all his other years combined. I would suggest a soft landing. He is neither the savior of MMA nor the backbone. He's had his 15 seconds.

Interesting that the last two fights of the night were booed in spite of providing the most action. MMA guys like 30 sec or so first rd KOs as what previously occured obviously.

It's time boxing realized the demographic for mixed martial arts will always be different from boxing and just continue to make good fights and not let Floydy get away without fighting top contenders in his division.

    Cheerio now.......

They'll put him in against another bum who's too scared to take him to the ground and they'll play it up as him "bouncing back from adversity"
