Kimbo was hurting Thompson no doubt but the whole thing was a setup. It went to ground in the first and the fighters were stood up very quickly when Thompson was maneuvering for a submission. Thompson was very hurt in the second but it was allowed to continue because EliteXC wanted their highlight reel knockout. Then Thompson took him down and spent two minutes beating him. So the next time Thompson got rocked they weren't taking any chances.

Also Thompson is not from Manchester, I could tell from his accent. He's from Stoke.

Bum or not, he won the fight, and it was an overall entertaining card that was FREE! Seems as if most u boxing aficionado's are upset that MMA was able to get airtime on prime time tv, while boxing cant.

Kimbo won yes, but it seemed like he got the house fighter treatment. For Shaw, Kimbo is his cashcow. He's been promoting the hell out of him. You've seen Kimbo at a few of Shaw's boxing cards. The Tarver/Woods fight's and was walking Angulo to the ring. Not to mention that he was even a presenter at the Country Music Awards, has had two different segment's on ESPN :60 and is on the cover of ESPN the magazine. All this and the guy has just beat backyard bums, and won three fights now. His look is what people like and it sells, but as far as him being a legitimate MMA fighter, he is not that. The hype train was running hard, but I think last night derailed it for awhile.
