His MMA company has lost like 20 Million dollars, he's a scum bag anyways. Hopefully he would stay with MMA and leave boxing.
Actually it's over 30 Million. I also read on Yahoo a few weeks ago, if the ratings tonight on CBS aren't what they're expecting, Elite XC might be folding.
He had been a Boxing Promoter and then gets into mma and then instead of bringing boxing to network tv he brings MMA.
What do you all think
Not really. He's trying to get James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo and especially Yuriorkis Gamboa and Odlanier Solis on network tv. It was just easier for him to get Kimbo Slice on tv. It sucks, but he's still got his hand in boxing and is trying to push some young stars who I like. It is what it is.

Wow. I read an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune that said they had four fights to get it going.

If Kimbo loses tonight Gary Shaw and EliteXC will be ****ed....I've never seen a fighter more hyped up than Kimbo, he's only had 2 MMA fights and he is the face of EliteXC, lol.

What type of ratings are they expecting?
They are expecting good ratings and i think they'll get them because Kimbo is the ****ing man.
After that though, i think ELITEXC will collapse. I mean, they have had some great shows like Shamrock-Asian dude. But most of their cards and just boring.
When UFC gets on Network TV its gonna be a big deal.
But **** Gary Shaw, MMA can keep him
You wanna hear CLASSIC GARY SHAW? This is really what this guy is all about: He says he goes over to MMA and sees what its like and he says he learns from it that Boxing needs good undercards to thrive. His VERY NEXT BOXING CARD after he made that statement, was Marquez-Vazquez 3, WHICH DIDNT EVEN HAVE A TELEVISED UNDERCARD!!!! Shaw is scum of the earth

What type of ratings are they expecting?
I can't find the original article I was referring to, so I'm not sure what ratings their expecting. It was basically an article discussing how all of the MMA organizations, save the UFC, were struggling. Here's another one though...
"Because Saturday nights don’t command the ratings of weekdays, Kahl is taking a gamble on EliteXC’s ability to capture the coveted 18-34 demographic. He says one indicator of the program’s success, ad sales, have been strong so far. But the most important sign of life, ratings, are a gray area. What would be a record-breaking audience for mixed martial arts could still ensure a one-way trip to cancellation on network time."
"On a conference call last week, EliteXC Live Events president Gary Shaw told reporters that May 31 is a make or break time for his promotion. ProElite, the parent company of EliteXC, lost a reported $31.3 million in 2007. To remain solvent through 2008 revenues have to be increased. Despite the tremendous pressure that puts on the first event, Kahl is cautiously optimistic about the future of the collaboration."

Oh ok. So, it's possible that they've lost more money since then or that they've begun to recoup some of that money.
I said this because I never thought much of EliteXC, but I've watch some of the recent card with Yves Edwards against Andre Berto's brother and Frank Shamrock against Kung Le and I'm starting to get into it a little bit. I like it better than UFC, which I can't stand because of Dana White.
I think as long as Kimbo wins a few fights EliteXC is going to do alright. I hate UFC though.

I don't have a problem with MMA. I'll watch the fights as long as they don't go to the ground, then I quickly lose interest. My problem with MMA is it getting more attention than Boxing. If Boxing isn't on network tv, then I say neither should MMA. Haha.
Judging by your name, I take it you're a Canibus fan, huh?
