I'm very impressed with Puerto Rico!

For such a small country they can sure produce major powerhouse fighters!
What also surprises me is how the Dominican Republic (a country which is next to PR) is unable to deliver the same punch!
Must be in the genes I guess...

Isn't the Dominican Rep alot poorer and just makes it money from tourism? i don't much about the island but is boxing as popular as it is in PR? just imagine if all the Cubans were allowed to go pro!

If that's the case they should be even hungrier than the Ricans but they aren't, I think they're (PR) just a superior race in terms of athleticism/boxing!

PR is not a country, it is part of the US.

Theyre awesome when it comes to boxing though, thats for sure. So many great fighters, past and present.

They have their own government and they're pretty independent so calling PR a country is not a big deal IMO.

eh, they kind of have their own government...but a lot of it follows the US Consitution and everything. always seemed like more or less an unlisted US State, except more removed from America than the rest.

but its not like it matters either way. the important thing is that they own when it comes to boxing.

Puerto Rico has a ********** form of government,[22] subject to U.S. jurisdiction and sovereignty.[2] Its current powers are all delegated by the United States Congress and lack full protection under the United States Constitution. Puerto Rico's head of state is the President of the United States.
Im not going to bother arguing, because it doesnt really matter. I would like to consider PR as part of the United States though, because Im proud of what PR has accomplished.

and Puerto Ricans Ive met dont really seem to give a damn about that issue...but not every Puerto Rican thinks alike, and Im sure that the general consensus IN Puerto Rico is different than those that are Puerto Rican and now living in different states.
