Willie Pep isn't exactly known for his power either, with 65 KOs in 241 fights.
True. But in 1946 (prior to suffering injuries from a plane crash) Pep faced 18 opponents and stopped a dozen of them. Not that he was facing patsies. Among his KO/TKO victims were Sal Bartolo, Chalky Wright, Jackie Graves, Lefty La Chance, the up to then undefeated Walter Kolby...

The Jackie Graves fight has often been referred to as the fight in which Pep won a round (reportedly, the 3rd) without throwing a punch. There were over 9 thousand people who saw the fight; while some claimed the story to be true, many more dismissed it as bologna sandwich.

Locche is the most underrated fighter of all time. One of the greatest defensive artists ever.

Yeah. I don't think he ever visited the canvass 136 fights; he not only had a good chin, no one ever managed to get to him and hit him hard enough. I believe that the only stoppage he suffered was in the second fight against the fellow HOFer, Antonio Cervantes, and the fight was stopped on cuts (caused by headbutts, it was reported).

The guy also had such tolerance for pain that was much more than most humans. He suffered two torn tendons in his left arm in the second round of the fight against Domingo Barrera Corpas, then suffered a cut over his right eye from a headbut. But he went on to win the 15-round encounter with his left arm dangling at his side and barely able to see through his right eye because of the blood that continued to ooze from the cut! He even managed to stagger Corpas a number of times in rounds 13 and 14 as well as punch the mouthpiece off of Corpas although he was notoriously featherfisted!

The guy did not only have uncanny defensive instincts, he had the physical gifts to go with those instincts and the heart to stay in the fight and win against seemingly insurmountable odds.

Edit: A true champion. A true Hall of Famer.
