I do not rate him but mistakes can always be made. I get more concerned on how he miscalls rounds etc. He may have a knowledge of boxing--it doesn't always translate to good judgement/lack of bias

Yes he dominated it, but it was Eubank that was down, not Calzaghe.

Calzaghe has only ever been down against Mitchell, Salem and Hopkins. Amateur or Pro.
      I suppose you know more?

        ___________
A guy was seated next to a 10-year-old girl on an airplane. Being bored, he turned to the girl and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The girl, who was reading a book, closed it slowly and said to the guy, "What would you like to talk about?"

Oh, I don't know," said the guy. "How about nuclear power?"

"OK," she said. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow and a deer all eat the same stuff... grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"

The guy thought about it and said, "Hmmm, I have no idea."

To which the girl replied, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know ****?"

I just think HBO do a bad job when commentating. A lot of talk before the fight. You as a fan is all hype up. Then when the fights start, they do not paying attention. Round 3-4 the talk about the next fight in any sport. Between rounds the just keep on talking. In the Kessler - Calzaghe fight "Calzaghe forced Kessler's corner in to danish". But they didn't. HBO
just has Enzo Calzaghes voice on when showing Kessler's corner. Jesus a boxing fan recognize the voice of Enzo. You just get the impression
that they already are focusing on the next fight. They simply not good at a live commentating. They are to slow, and likes to here them self instead of commentating the fight live!!!

                  Did I state that????

                  But I did correct him.

                  I don't see him correcting me, I won't talk about **** unless I know it's true.

You don't just GUESS on live TV, in a fight that was talked about for years.

Now to the normal public, this could put a different view on Calzaghe, Like he is used to being down at the start of a fight.

When in fact he had never been down in the first round of any fight in his career, it was a first.

Max is far from flawless and he's said some things that really annoyed me over the years. But overall I think he makes good contributions to the telecast. His real strength was working in a studio like he did at ESPN though.
