By Cliff Rold - Yesterday, a four-way debate looked to be turning out about as expected. The first part of an analysis looking at arguably the four best weight divisions in Boxing, from Champions to the number 5 spot, showed Welterweight to certainly be the strongest top half of any division in the sport. That’s only half of the test; depth in a division happens in the fielding of a solid top ten. Does Welterweight pass that test as well? For those who missed it, Part I can be found at http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=14191 [details]

Lightweight is the best for me right now as well.
you got pacman, jmm, guzman, valero moving up to lightweight.
then you got casamayor, nate campbell, katsids, jaun diaz, david diaz, amir khan, anthony petersen, etc
that is a deep deep division.Comment

what makes up the best division in boxing are the boxers who came there to fight. during the reign julio cesar chavez jr., that division (SFW/LW) was the best because all the boxers in that division come to fight. the likes of jc chavez, jose luis ramirez, edwin rivera, barry mcguigan, greg haugen always entertain the fight fans. hector camacho was once entertaining but after he moved up in weight, he became chicken to exchange punches and he preferred to run like joan guzman, ugly boy floyd and ivan calderon.
oscar delahoya, who dethroned jc chavez is very exciting boxer then, like rocky lockridge, little red lopez and lupe pintor.
for me the best division in boxing is superfeatherweight/lightweight because we have pacman, jmm, juan diaz, campbell and katsidis. these fighters surely entertain the fans and that makes the SFW/LW division the best.Comment
