I agree, and it always seems like the guy who has little boxing skill is blessed with the great left hook.

While the technicians of the sport have gone to school and put millions of hours into learning the technique of the sport, the unskilled brawlers and those who choose to fight in ways other than by the book are able to compete with them because they have the natural gift of a great left hook.

I didn't say they were mutually exclusive.

And really, no one is blessed with "boxing skill". It is what you have to learn by the book.

I'm sure Klitschko's jab wasn't as good as it is now when he started boxing. He had to learn the years of study that trainers have used to perfect the way a jab is thrown.

You get my drift.

He was born with athleticism, but that wasn't what I was talking about when I was talking about skill and the left hook keeping unskilled fighters in contention.
