I agree Pavlik is like Kessler but slower, and may have slightly less power, but that one is very debatable. But there are a few significant differences we should take into account before we say he'd lose to Calzaghe cuz Kessler did.
1. Kelly has never taken a single backwards step in a fight. This is extremely important when you're fighting someone like Calzaghe, who is constantly pushing forward. If Kessler hadn't taken a step back, he may have won. I don't see Kelly stepping back unless he gets really hurt, which is unlikely. Not impossible though, I'll admit.
2. WORKRATE- No one has a higher workrate from Middleweight up than Kelly. Kessler probably throws 2/3 or less the amount of punches of Kelly, and that is another big, big difference, especially in a Calzaghe fight where he is usually clearly the busier man. This fight it will not be the case, at least not clearly.
So to all those in the "If Kessler lost, so will Kelly", chew on that for a minute.
