yeah...... i knew floyd would 99% win but i spent $60 for that 1%. i wouldn't have dished out $60 for a tuneup. doubt most people would either......especially considering floyd doesn't have too much fans aside from guys who like to drink his geez , wannabes who wish they could bling bling with him like in 24/7 or a few that saw him on dancing with the stars. don't get me wrong i think the guy is talented but i just dislike him and feel he's a little bit overrated.

that being said...... can't deny he's #1 p4p and his great resume. not the greatest but not bad either. i know he's all about the money but so is 99.9% of the boxers out there. the only pro boxers who don't fight for the money are the ones who don't make money and do it for the love sport. no matter how much you love boxing when you're a professional boxer your primary goal is to make as much money for yourself and your family.

i know we all feel he's ducking cotto and he very well could be but we don't have to exaggerate how awful his competition has been. corrales at 130 and castillo at 135 would be enough to cement a great name. if we didn't hate floyd so much (the guy is just a piece of crap but considering how his family members are......) we wouldn't make such a big deal. think of some "loved" fighters and i bet you their resume's are on par with floyd as well.

when are we gonna come up with some different threads for this forum?

        a solid win.

        a name recognition win.

there are better welters than zab but few with a better name recognition with the fans.

people still remember zab as the unstoppable , talented junior welter. too bad for zab kostya couldn't stay living in siberia.

why do you think cotto fought him? and shane? cotto and shane don't seem like guys who don't take on the best competition.

i consider Judah FRESH off a loss to TaTa BALDOMIR..where he did the chicken dance part duex a tune up

what did Judah ever do at WW? he beat Spinks in a rematch which he didnt deserve nor did he deserve the first fight...hell he was dropped against Spinks in the first fight.

what does his psyche have to do with his worth/skills as a fighter?

zab is not world class anymore but he's still a good , solid fighter with a good name recognition.

tyson was a front runner too. his psyche didn't stop him from sending 50-60 guys to la la land......and most of those guys were not front runners.

Zab fresh off a loss to a 16-1 underdog..a loss to Spinks and KTFO in the second at 140..

to me makes him a TUNE UP for the #1 ranked fighter in the world..

every fighter can be overrated and underrated. depends on who is giving the opinion.

when people say he hasn't fought anyone or picks his fights he's underrated to me.

when people say he's better than ray leonard or henry armtrong or he'd ko duran in the first round he's overrated to me.

p4p #1 right now , in this era , is just right for me IMHO.

i feel floyd is suffering from roy jones syndrome. so dominant and rarely tested in his prime that people question his choice of fights and underrate his victories because most of it was so dominant. it's human psychology i guess. we see it in a lot of things. we like winners but we don't want them to win by too much. we like to see them get challenged.

it's like that in every sport. when 90's bulls fans talk about 6 championships 80's celtics fans will bring up they won 3 playing against better competition in the 80's not the weak 90's. the celtics this year won 66 games in the regular season but lakers fans will say they won 57 in a much harder conference. we like winners but if they're too dominant we start to question it.

if united beats chelsea 1-0 we say great win. if united beats chelsea 4-0 we say chelsea didn't show up.

Mitchell meant nothin. Judah was only significant cuz for some reason he still had the IBF belt after Baldomir beat him. The Baldomir fight was for the world title. Hatton was just a payday fight. PBF has been fightin title matches at 147, they've just been fights he was supoposed to win, which decreases some of the relevance. And he wouldn't fight Marg when he was #1 or Cotto after he became #1, so even the cred of his Ring belt took a hit. Cuz of that, once again, Cotto v Marg is for the real 147 lb title. While the winner is lickin his wounds, Floyd gets to grab some more easy $ against DLH. After that, he's outta excuses. Fight or go the **** home. For now, where 147 is concerned, July 26 is what it's all about fellas.
