People on this forum, tend to either be TOO hard on the kid, or HYPE him up, WAY TOO MUCH. I was wondering if there was a general balance on the overall board.
He's got a pretty good record. Only one loss, to a guy who's only loss is to Miguel Cotto, Carlos Quintana (24-1-0).
He's beaten Antonio Margarito, a faded Sharmba Mitchell, and gave a overhyped Walter Matthysse his first loss in an exciting fight. He's an exciting fighter with great stamina, a good workrate and some nice speed. Decent jab. Very solid chin, aswell.
However, his weaknesses would be his footwork, in-fighting, ability to switch to a plan B mid-fight, lacks HUGE punching power and can be hit when he focuses on TOO much offense.
He's ALREADY trying to avenge his only loss and has a decent chance of doing that.
So, what are your thoughts on Paul Williams? Keep in mind, that he was ALWAYS trying in his losing effort, is still VERY young, and could learn to get the fight to be fought at HIS distance. If not, work better on the inside.
So, overrated or underrated? Your thoughts.
