The Santacruz Robbery Clouded My Opinion Of Casamayor For A While

But I remembered how amazing a boxer this guy really is/was from the Corrales/Casamayor re-run this weekend. Dude was a genius in the ring and I love watching him utilize that lateral movement after shooting a straight or a jab. We saw his ring smarts against Katsidis (kinda like Floyd used against Hatton) using Kat's aggression against him. Hopefully Casa doesn't fight like he did against Santacruz again.

The dismal showing in the Santa Cruz fight was a combination of a bad style for Casamayor added to a lot of ring rust from a long layoff.

I haven't seen really any of Casamayor's prime career apart from Castillo, and I don't think he even looked that good against Katsidis, but it was really weird, even though the guy didn't impress me that much I could see from a mile away that this guy had once been something else, and it really made me want to see him fight again.

Once I'm done with Marg and Cotto, he is first on my DL list.

I'd recommend his matches with Freitas and Corrales (especially the first one).

Clouded my opinion also, I thought Katsidis was gonna beat him solely off that loss, I just thought he looked horrible against a relatively unknown fighter. But he actually looked pretty good and had a real exciting fight against Katsidis and I am looking forward to seeing him fight again and hopefully it's against Nate Campbell.

I would like Campbell/Casamayor and Katsidis/Juan Diaz on the same card and maybe them winners coulld square off!!!!

Katsidis was winning on all three judges score cards before the stoppage, katsidis blew that fight by opening himself up and lunging in aka Ricky Hatton Style.

i told everyone he just underestimated santa cruz (and lost). santa cruz ain't on his level.

casa is one of my favorite fighters and has been robbed on at least two occasions, so maybe the b.s. decision was just evening out the wrongs?

either way i pick him to beat the galaxy warrior (also one of my favorite) if they meet.

Look at it this way bro. The one reason my opinion of Casa didn't change is because it's not his fault they robbed Santacruz. **** those judges though.
