    Gutted...

I just got saw a re-run of UFC 84 and I can't believe I missed that to watch the Hatton card. Damn, that was just awesome - every fight was exciting and there were great knockouts and sick skills throughout.

How can boxing compete with that kind of entertainment and realism long term? I'm thinking a 6 oz maximum on boxing gloves would be a good start, and just one long round until the KO. A relaxation of the laws could also be beneficial I think like allowing knee and elbow strikes when clinched and maybe also takedowns from the clinch. Of course these changes would need to be gradual but they could each make a great impact on boxing as a spectacle imo.

    Chin chin.

I thought the main event was terrible. Sean Sherk showed the world how not to box. It was just 20 minutes of jabbing sherks face. Hatton fight was 100 x better in my opinion.

I'd watch boxing any day over MMA, but I kind of liked that main event. Probably because it was more stand up than the usual rolling around.

Yeah, a wrestler on his feet is a fish out of water.

No it was 15 minutes of that then a friggin' awesome flying knee which was more aestetically pleasing than anything in the Hatton fight.

It was just a terrible fight all round. I felt sorry for the people who paid to watch it. 20 minutes of sub amateur standard boxing followed by one knee and the guy is out.

I knew that both hatton/lazcano and malignaggi/ndou would be boring fights so I watched ufc 84 instead.

Lyoto Machida/Tito Ortiz was pretty boring and technical. Silva/Jardine didn't even last a minute. Penn/Sherk was won easily by Penn with the *gasp* jab.
