Also, to anyone who think's Joe has no power, watch his earlier fights, especially the one with Eubank who had a granite chin, he had lots of power. He doesn't throw hard punches anymore because his hands break easily, but that doesn't mean he isn't physically capable of it.

I have said this a million times before and I'll say it again.

He looks like a ***** fighting his way out of spider webs. With that said it's effective.

Simple as that, no reason to have long discussions about the mult-dimensions of his marvelous boxing talent.

Except its a boxing forum, and Calzaghe is a boxer.

Well I gave you my opinion. It isn't like he is pretty to watch like SRL, Roy or anybody agressive like Hagler.

He is ugly to watch. The only fight I liked with him in it was the Jeff Lacy beatdown.

Well, I can kind of see how you would think that, especially if you have no reason to like him i.e not being from the UK, but I can't agree he's bad to watch at his best. Against Hopkins and in some of his easier defences he's had some stinkers though, definitely.

Yeah he isn't bad to watch, his fights against brewer and mitchell had me on the edge of my seat, obviously the lacy performance, but my favourite was the kessler fight, cos as emmanuel steward said it had a little bit of everything.

I think prime roy jones and hopkins would have beaten calzaghe, but today I think kelly pavlik COULD beat him and I think jermain taylor and roy jones COULD knock him out but Id favour calzaghe against them all. Dawson has got the talent but think joe would completely outsmart him in the ring. Tarver? Too inconsistent for me, but on his day could give calzaghe problems.

The Kessler fight is my favourite also. I don't think any of the fighters you list has any chance of knocking him out though, his chin is too solid. Right now I think he beats any of the fighters you mention but in their primes RJJ would be erm.. difficult, Hopkins and Tarver too.

I think his chin gets him out of alot of problems. He can be hit but if you have a great chin you are never really made to pay.

In so many of his fights he gets sloppy, then gets tagged, then changes the way he fights to pull away on the score cards.

His main attributes are work rate, chin, speed and the ability to change the fight. These are very difficult to overcome because paradoxically its very hard to beat him on the cards becauseof his workrate and you need to knock him out, which is also extremely hard because of his chin and ability to change up the fight.

His trainer is also a great attribute. You can tell he really knows him as a fighter which is invaluabe. He knows how to get the best out of him and motivate him.

Ive lost count of the number of times ive seen a fighter lose because of **** corner advice or tactics

I dont see him losing before he retires but who knows.

Skill wise hes kind of talented in my eyes.

I was most impressed with him against Kessler..he was throwing fast punches getting in and out.....he looked good....real good.

Albeit aginst Manfredo he looked good as well.

He has no pop in his punches....and very poor punching technique....little defense to speak off..he does have a good chin though and a good workrate...great stamina too.

Is he the number 2 p4p boxer in the sport...HELL NO.

                      Top 10 yes.

I think a hard puncher who like to fight beats him.

                      Pavlik??
                      I agree

Pros: Natural Hand Speed and Great stamina
                      Cons: Lacks power and technique

Calzaghe's defense is his offense. His ability to throw so many punches is what keeps his opponents off of him. I think he could be even better as a fighter if he would drop his old man as a trainer.

I like Pavlik's chances because of his jab.
