    Breaking News

Mayorga said through his lawyer yesterday that he isn't retiring, he will continue fighting at 154. A rematch against Spinks is a possibility, as well as Margarito or Santos. We'll see what happens there...

I don't care who he fights; I just hope he gets the legal mess over so he can get into the ring.

Mayorga's one of those guys who doesn't need to prove anything to boxing critics. He's a crazy, tough guy who is fun to watch. I'd watch 10 of his fights before watching many of the scientific fighters who are just plain boring to watch.

I do realize a lot of people enjoy mayorga, but im not entertained by his fighting...Everyone hailed the forrest 1 and 2 fights as spectacular..I seen them both and really wasnt that impressed or excited about it...

Mayorga has a solid chin and a hard punch (questionable) and that really doesnt even excite me...

Mayorga beat forrest that is it, forrest was "hailed" as the next great thing but busted....

Mayorga has no other claim to fame...Any fighter he fights who can move and box will beat him plain and simple....

I respect mayorga and will give him credit on somethings but his out of the ring antics are much more entertaining then his in ring antics and his style bores me....I like the scientific approach to boxing.

Mayorga's got good hand speed, too. That's what made his fights with Forrest so exciting, at least the first one. The first one is a near classic, and at least is in the same vein as Hagler-Hearns and Dempsey-Firpo, though quality of opponents might not quite be equal.

Here's hoping he works to improve his game a little when he comes back. Maybe then he will be the complete fighter that many people here say he is not now.

The first Mayorga/Forrest fight was a good brawl but Forrest was winning the fight until Mayorga landed that shot that threw Forrest's balance off. Vernon looked fine and ready to go even though he was a little shook but there are many fighters who fight through that he just wasn't given the chance. In the second fight one can argue that Forrest won that fight. I had it for Mayorga at first but since then I have scored it a draw. It is true Forrest was very worried about getting hit with a big shot early but in the middle rounds Forrest was landing the cleaner shots. Both fighters had there moments in the late rounds but if anyone had a real advantage it would of been Forrest.

Well Mayorga better step up his game because I don't think he has looked very good since the 1st Forrest fight.

He will always have the ability to KO his opponent, but I think he needs to seriously work on his boxing skills.

Mayorga has Vernon's number, but nobody else's. He defintely second-tier, with a big chin, big heart and not much "boxing" skill.
