What Floyd must do to win::

-Movement to give Cotto many diffrent angles.
-Time Cottos jab with the right hand effectively.
- When Cotto takes breaks Floyd needs to attack him...dont let Cotto rest like he's used to doing.
- Frustrate Cotto with his defense.
- Beat Cotto to the punch
- Take away Cottos body attack like Shane did.
- Throw more then one at a time...**Cotto is open to be hit))
- Hit Cotto with body shot right hand counters ** like the one he was practicing on 24/7 for Hatton.))
- When Cotto bull rushes in with his head.....Floyd needs to tag him everytime which will make Cotto cautious and a sitting target.


What Cotto needs to do to win::

-Hit EVERYTHING on Floyd...arms, shoulders, chest, forearms, triceps..EVERYTHING...Especially when he goes into his defense stance.

-Make the ring small....Cotto is great at cutting off the ring..although doing it against Floyd will be difficult.

- Switch to his southpaw stance through out the fight..to land hard lefts like Judah was able to do.

-DO NOT PRESSURE FLOYD!!!!.....Thats not how he will be beaten......Cotto needs to box....pull out of the skills....Jab him.....in and out..play counter puncher at times.

-Dont allow yourself to take unessesary punishment...show some defense.hide your chin..and catch Floyd when hes throw rather then vice versa.






My Prediction::::

Im predicting a stoppage in the late rounds for Floyd.....Cotto will take to much punishment. Cotto wil have his moments but in the end he will fall short.

Ay Punisher, that's a great assessment. I agree with alot that you said, you know your stuff. I gotta disagree with the highlighted portion of your post.

1) Cotto and Mayweather are even in the stamina department

2) Mayweather does not react the same when Pressured (Castillo, Zab, Oscar)

2) There is nothing...absolutely "NOTHING", Floyd Mayweather can throw to keep Miguel Cotto off of him for 12 rounds!!!

Mayweather will not have his feet planted against Cotto. Translation: Lighting quick, check hooks, blistering combo's..but no power shots. Mayweather's power shots will land on Cottos gloves Like Shane Mosely's over hand right.

pretty much agree with all of the above except I think Floyd wnats to win more, and has more heart, it just hasnt been tested. Floyd's ego is so huge he wouldnt be able to come out in public after a loss. His father and uncles were all fighters and he was born to fight, it is in his blood. He will refuse to lose. It's like he said, no one has ever made him have to go in his bag of tricks to pull out a win and his back has never been against a wall. USUALLY when someones back is against a wall they fight back harder. I think that we have only and will only see glimpses of Mayweather's greatness because he wont allow himself to be put in a position to lose. He wont ever have to fight adversity because of his safety first style. Thats my opinion.

The only thing in which Cotto is better than Mayweather pound for pound is power punching.

Luckily for him, he is 10+ pounds bigger than Mayweather, and that makes him a threat. In my eyes if they were the same physical size, Cotto would be knocked out or dominated.

I see this fight as being a boring UD by Mayweather where he fights as defensive and negative as ever. What did he learn from Castillo 1? Get on your bicycle, and that's what he will do with Cotto.

Unless Cotto wins rounds early, and puts him in a position where he has to fight.

Cotto's cutting off the ring is going to play a role, his ability to think and change what he is doing even more, his body punching is not going to play as big of a role as most expect because his main punch there is the left hook and Mayweather offers a very slanted stance, which makes a left to the body a hard punch to land.

I think the fight will happen, and maybe 32 years old (by then) Mayweather has slowed down enough that he has to fight Cotto, as opposed to boxing him on the move. And then... outfighting a younger, bigger opponent would take some major balls and tricks, and you can bet that loudmouth egomaniac is not going to let his 0 go easy... we might be in for a treat.

Unless Mayweather slows down I still hold a boring UD win as the most likely outcome.
