So Amateur fights don't count?!? (Pryor vs Hearns)

The reason Hearns and Leonard kept Pryor far away from them:

Look at the ten greatest boxers of all time.. It's no coensidence they all had an extensive amateur background!

This is the reason I think a lot of Mexican, African, etc. fighters would have been a lot better if they would have had one..
This is why the U.S.A. is lucky and has so many great champions.. they walk into the pros with more experience.

You cant compare the Hearns of later to this 17 year old kid who had little power and no physical capabilities, the real Tommy punched like a mule and Manny had taught him how to utilise his frame more. Plus this is only a couple rounds and Pryor was by far the more experienced, decorated amatuer. In pros it would be a different story, Pryor would eat too many shots and no one took Hearns shots for long unless they got him outta there first; and Pryor at welterweight wouldn't have the power

Maybe, maybe not. We will never know because they never wanted anything to do with him.

Pryor is one of the few people I think can go toe to toe with my GOAT, Sugar Ray Leonard.

Is it any surprise that 6'1" Thomas Hearns wasn't at his best at 132 lbs?

If the amateurs were identical to the pros, Tyrell Biggs would have been a world champ, don't you think?

Hearns at 147 slaughters Pryor or outboxes him badly

Never said that they were identical to the pros, but they do matter.

That's not the point of the thread I think..
Usually, better amateurs and amateur backgrounds make better pros..

I don't think any of the top ten greatest didn't have an extensive AM background..
