What Arum did was basically offer Floyd his own money. Bob Arum didn't have 8million to give but would have generated that much from Floyd's status. Floyd fought Judah in early 2006 and was gunning for a major payday with Delahoya. Knowing that Arum - his promoter could get in the way of that payday, he payed off his contract with Top Ranks and was waiting for Delahoya in November 2006.

Oscar choose to take the rest of the year off, Arum started offering Margarito and Floyd turned it down because he doesn't wanna be involved with Arum anymore and because Margarito was a nobody holding on to a WBO belt he won when it was vacant.

Then Floyd was gunning for Mosley in November but Shane turned it down due to tooth problems and wanting to take a vacation.
