Vitali Klitschko Bested in Ukraine, On To Sam Peter

The news coming of out of Ukraine is that former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko lost for the second time in his bid for the mayor's seat in Kiev. Based on the current results, Leonid Chernovetsky had 33% of the vote, followed by Oleksandr Turchynov and Klitschko, each with about 20%. Klitschko finished second in a 2006 run. The second time around, Klitschko asked for help from the consulting firm run by former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Yes, now he can completely focus on defeating Sam Peter. Despite the layoff, if he's 100% focused, he has a chance of winning.

And if he can then unify with the winner of Chagaev vs. Valuev, the Klitschko brother's dream of having all the heavyweight titles will become a reality.

yup, now he can be focused and hopefully more motivated. if he is anything like his old self, peter will be getting a classic ass whipping.

and for those ****s who think him winning is a bad thing or wlad's career, stuff it. it is not like vitali is planning to stick around for the next 5 years or anything.

I always say if he stays healthy he can beat Sam but that remains to be seen. No camp is complete without an injury to Vitali.

Inactivity kills, and Vitali hasn't fought in three and a half years. He'll be 37 by the time the fight comes off, and I'll believe it when I see him make it through a training camp.
