    Anyone know MGM seating well?

I've yet to get a clear answer on this some people say one thing and others say another. I've been to some staduims that do AA BB etc as front row first followed by single number and vise versa. I have section 117 row FF for the fight and I'm wonder is front row aa, bb , cc etc meaning im row 6 or is it front row a b c d and im like row 30ish. Thanks.

They are selling fast, arum said he sold already a million dollars worth. My tickets I bought were 300 and I signed on and bought them right away at 10 less than 45 seconds when they went on sale to the public. I heard my seats were good but If im row 30 in that section I dont see how they could be that good. row 6 sounds much better.

This is the best I could find.

        THE BATTLE

Ticket sales for Margarito-Cotto are brisk.

"It's highly popular," says Dena duBoef, V.P. of International Marketing for Top Rank. "Even before we went on sale, people were looking for the location since it was up in the air, whether it was the MGM in Vegas or the Madison Square Garden in New York. We could not give them the answer. When they determined where it was going to be, we just couldn't stop all the phone calls from coming in."

I can honestly say I have never gotten as many emails from readers beforehand asking when and where a fight was going to take place. Many of you played a game of Russian Roulette by booking flights to Las Vegas a few weeks ago, before the fight was signed, sealed and delivered.

DuBoef, who handles of all Top Rank's ticket requests that come into the office, says it has been awhile since interest has been this high for one of their promotions.

"It's one of our De La Hoya fights," she says. "I didn't do tickets at the time but that's the only thing I would compare it to."

The fans have responded quickly to the fight being made official.

"The $100's have basically sold out, there's only 18 left at Ticketmaster. I've almost sold out of all my 100's. So now we're going to the $200 price range," duBoef would say on Friday afternoon. The box-office at the MGM Grand has been buzzing also. "I can tell you within the first 15 minutes when we went on sale - which was Thursday at 10 am, 635 tickets were sold. At the end of the day when they closed the box office, it was roughly around 1,100."

The venue will be scaled at around 16,500 seats.

Ticket inquiries have come in from as far as London, England. And according to duBoef, "A lot of people in the Navy, Air Force. A lot of military people want to come and see the fight."

Which is appropriate, given that the promotion has been dubbed 'The Battle.'

There's is two sections for section 117 an upper and lower. The lower section would be 117 row a, b, c etc....The upper section is 117 row aa, bb, cc, dd. Hope this helps.

the last fight i went to at the mgm was the pavlik-taylor rematch and if i'm not mistaken i had a Q row seat which was decent, the single letter rows are the middle section, the double letter rows are below them( AA,BB,CC,etc.), closer to the floor, which are usually the best seats to have since they put you at eye level of the ring, and usually nothing blocking your view unless you're unlucky and happen to be in the corner where the camera man is always standing during the fight (what has happened a few times and it sucks when you paid for a good seat), other than that any double lettered seat ought to be a good one.
the last fight i went to was the hopkins-calzaghe fight which was at the thomas and mack and when we bought our tickets (scalped tickets) the dude gave us the low down on the seats. i was skeptical at first when the guy said the the double lettered seats were better, i thought that i was getting hustled by this guy, there were literally hundreds of scalpers, damn near brawling with one another to sell a ticket, so i was pretty worried about getting scammed, but it all came out to be on the up and up, so from there i at least learned at the thomas and mack the double lettered seats were the better than the single, but as mentioned before in the thread, i'm sure, or at least next to positive that every venue might be different. as far as the mgm, i'm next to positive that the doubled lettered seats are right off the floor seats and they're good.
hope that helps a tad, peace.

You're in the top section which give you two good choices. Watch the fight on the big screen there, or bring a pair of quality binoculars. I've done the binoculars thing before and it works pretty damn good.

Wow how big is MGM? I'll be pretty pissed if i need binoculars to see the fight. My section is the first section right off the floor, for a stadium that only holds 16000 i would assume right off the lower level should be fine viewing.
