If Carl Froch is handed the WBC title because of its vacant and Inkin has pulled out it proves multiple things:
a) you can fight guys not in the top 30 of the division. Continue to rack up wins. And fans will look at your boxrec record and say, **** hes the real deal.
It will also prove that fans do take note and are impressed when fighters knock out bums. As numerous Froch fans have said to me. "He use to look bad against Bums, but now he looks good". If you think im joking, go over some Froch threads, there are British fans on here who think wow, he just KTFO that guy, so what if hes rated the 455th best SMW in the world.
b) it also proves that boxing fans don't know anything. How can a guy who beat one notable fighter, and that fighter well he wasn't really that big of a name. It was a way past it Robin Reid. How can a fighter with only one win, be talked about as competing with Kessler, and Miranda.
Some fans are saying Froch's power will cause Kessler problems. How on Earth can you predict that? How can you even measure Frochs power? He hasn't knocked out anyone of note. The Reid stoppage was from an accumalation of shots and not just one shot.
c) He probably has the worst technique i have seen by a professional going for or holding a world title. His hands are low. His punches are extremely slow and his power, well its just awesome. I mean he managed to knock out a guy on Friday night, who started to train for the fight on wednesday night. That gives you an indication of Frochs opponents, most of these guys got the fight at the very last minute.
Conclusion : I will be the first guy to jump on the Froch bandwagon if he beats a big name. But how can a guy with not one good win in his career get the chance of fighting for a world title? How can a guy with not one good win, get the right to call out Calzaghe? And most importantly, how can boxing fans actually give the guy a chance against proven world class fighters, and even predict him beating someone like Kessler, from what he has shown us, which is practically nothing!
No hard feelings Froch. But your probably the luckiest guy in world boxing. You are in line for some big money fights, and you haven't taken one risk to get there!
