Floyd's second best win at 130...

Undoubtedly Corrales is #1. Not even a shadow of a doubt that was his crowning achievement at 130.

But, for second place, it's up in the air IMO.

You have an older Genaro Hernandez, who only had one loss (at lightweight, so he was undefeated at 130) against a beast of a fighter named Oscar De La Hoya.

    AND

You have Jesus Chavez. A young fighter with one loss on his resume that was later avenged. He was a very young, energetic fighter who gave a very good clinic on how to pressure an opponent relentlessly.

Which one do you think is better?

Oh yeah, and this isn't a bait thread, or an I told you so thread... I actually thought it would be an interesting bit of discussion, because they are both good wins, but they are two different kind of wins too.

I always liked the Chavez win more, or at least the manner in which he won. The Hernandez fight I think I'd be inclined to support more if it hadn't been his last. Both are solid wins though and entertaining fights that demonstrate how much of a beast Floyd was.

I say Genaro because he was the champ at the time and never lost at 130 before Floyd, even if his most recognized win, is a close victory against an ancient Azumah Nelson.

Hernandez easily....he had only lost to DLH before at a HIGHER weight facing the much bigger DLH...Hernandez was a 130 lb fighter and at 130 lb he only lost to Floyd...

Hernandez-DLH was somewhat competitive despite genaro fighting at lightweight, Hernandez-Mayweather was a fight dominated by Mayweather at Hernandez weight, 130 lbs. Hernandez also had two long reigns at super featherweight beating Azumah Nelson, Ramirez, Paez, Perez and Carlos Hernandez.

              How about... Good call.

I would rank Manfredy under Hernandez and Chavez though. While Manfredy was good, he never ended up winning a world title. Just a good contender that never got there.

I said Chavez because he gave Floyd a lot more trouble and it wasn't quite a normal walk through fight for him. I had the Chavez fight much closer than the Hernandez fight before they stopped it. Hernandez was a little up there in age and I think showed it in his fight with Mayweather.
Chavez ate everything Mayweather had and still charged him and connected a lot compared to others in the past.

Manfredy on the other hand I think is overrated and the only entertaining part of that fight was his gay entrance with Kid Rock...

Also I agree that Corrales was the best 130 fight. Even with the height and reach disadvantage he completely destroyed Corrales. It's a good thing his dad stopped that fight when he did because he was hitting the mat left and right like it was his job.

33-0. Never been down in his career. P4P #5. Previously IBF 130 champion after beating an undefeated Roberto Garcia. Went on to win championships at 135. Beat Castillo, Casamayor, Freitas, etc. at 135.

Really, who at 130 that Floyd beat can match up to that?

EDIT: Oops, I thought you wrote disagree. My bad. Well whatever, that is still there for anyone who thinks otherwise.
