Hatton's future: Should he look to unify or chase money may?

Personally, I believe Hatton can unify the light-welter division. I know that a fight with Mayweather is obviously the money maker but I hope for the sake of Hatton's health he chooses not to fight him again, Mayweather is too slick, too fast. It would really mess Hatton up WHEN he got knocked out again.

I don't see why he doesn't try to unify, I really believe he could do it and can sell however many tickets he wants whoever he fights!

I think it would do well for Hatton's legacy to try and pick up all the belts at light welter, or at least go down fighting for them, imo. More repsect in that then getting one right on the button from Money May again.

    Discus.

(Although I understand he had held the IBF and WBA belts before).

I'm thinking 1st fight obviously is Magic Man.
    Second, Bradley would be interesting.
    Third ? Not sure

    Then Pacman.

How good would that be? Would be last about 2 years and then retire.

Doubt it would happen though and this is on the assumption he wins all these matches which is unlikely imo.

For me mayweather is out of the question, Unifying the division is the best thing he can do.

I don't know man. Pauli is tailor made for Hatton imo. The guy can't test Hatton's chin and Hatton will just belt that body and head with hooks. I deffinitelly think he can prise the belts from Torres and Holt (although Torres gave Cotto all kinds of problems in fairness).

Oh, seeing him fight pacman would be amazing. My money would be on the pacman, you can here Jim now. STRAIGHT LEFT FROM PACQUIAO, HATTON IS HOLDING ON HE IS HURT HE IS HURT. then Emanual chipping in 'Ricky id deffinitely hurt...' lol

          Deffo.

Dare I say I might go if it was at Wembley but i wouldn't really want it to Happen or see the fella knocked out again. and Billy Graham's tactical and training ineptness.

As much as I love him, I think that Hatton is too limited to ever make an impact at the WW level. There's nothing wrong with that...but for the fact that WW is where all the big fights are. Having seen him again in his own territory (weight and location) its quite obvious that he's a JWW at his best and he'll always be too defensively weak to ever defeat the likes of Cotto or Mayweather (or ever 2 to 3 other top contenders) in the WW division, without a huge slice of luck or excellent tactics. Beating someone so convincingly over 12 rounds, yet still taking so many flush punches and such a high accuracy percentage (Lazcano came out with something like 26%, and thats taking into account the later few rounds where he was hugely tiring) is why Hatton can never mix it with the bigger boys with power in their fists or strong accuracy. Its just too many punches to take.

I think that he'd beat everyone at his weight division, I think that he could possibly take Pac-Man at JWW in a final fight. There is nothing wrong with this, in fact unifying his division and then taking on a top P4P contender would be incredibly impressive. I just dont think that he should be going up anywhere, not anymore.

Deffo agree although there was a rumour that May was moving down. Doubt it was true though. Taking three belts then Pacman would be sick. Also Billy graham needs to teach Ricky to PARRY for ****s sakes, he should watch some hopkins fights and get some defense going.

Billy Graham is the wrong man for the job. Hatton had his tactics all wrong against Mayweather. If FMJ came down to 140, Hatton would have a better chance, but it'd be the same weaknesses that got him beat last time. Too much head-hunting, too little in the way of defense, coming up against a defense that is too good.

Hatton outweighed Floyd on 12/8. How would the fight be any different if they both made the 140 limit? Please explain.

The 140 limit is easier for PBF than for RH.
