Kelly Pavlik, Julio Cesar Chavez Double-Header on 9/23?

According to boxing scribe George Kimball, Bob Arum of Top Rank is planning on putting together a Tuesday pay-per-view on September 23 in Mexico City, which features Kelly Pavlik and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The date of the pay-per-view is said to coincide with Mexican Independence Day. [details]

Like I said a while back:

    The Battle For Mediocrity
    Chávez Jr. v.s. Camacho Jr.

The guy who is charging PPV prices for everyone to see his amateur career v.s. the guy who never could get out of the shadow of his father.

Pavlik needs to fight someone big after Lockett. Or if he does fight another scrap have it be in Ohio.

Pavlik should fight Winky Wright next.

If Arum's a good promoter, he should put that fight together.

That would be a piss poor excuse for a major PPV with Pavlik-Rubio as the main event. If they're going to charge $50 for something like that I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Arum trying to sell Pavlik to the Mexican fans, it worked with Butterbean.

If Camcho Jr. comes in shape he has a chance to win. They better not charge a ridicules price.

Mexican independence day is Sept. 16 not Sept. 23.

Rubio would probably beat John Duddy.

I wonder is Abraham beats Miranda if he will be more or less inclined to turn around and unify the middleweight division with Pavlik in his next fight.
