He probably would be remembered a bit differently if he had a better chin, not sure about top 5 ATG though.

Hearns could have became the greatest fighter of all time. Hell, he was out pointing Leonard with ease before the stamina issues showed up. I mean, what couldn't he do? He was lightning fast, one punch knockout power, was the best pure boxer that i have ever seen and had great reflexes. I also think that he had underrated inside game. His left hook to the body was brutal.

Yeah, I agree. Perhaps a little bit higher on the list but still not in the top 10.

I agree with this post. I have never seen a boxer who had such a terrific combination of gifts. To watch him switch from an aggressive puncher who followed his opponent round the ring and then the next moment dancing around him like the slickest boxer, and knowing that boxer could still throw his amazingly fast, hard and clean shots, is one of my favourite sights in boxing.

Yeah his left hook to the body was a thing of beauty.

This thread goes to show that any fighter, has an Achilles Heel. Hearns was incredible in the ring, and had one of the best offensive arsenals I have ever seen.

Left Hook to the body may have been beautiful, but that straight right especially the one against Duran was one to fear. Duran had a Granite chin and he got KTFO.

Tommy Hearns is one of my favorites to watch but there are so many great fighters out there it's kind of hard to place him in the top 5 of all time in relatively limited opinion better chin or not. Maybe one of the top 5 greatest of the 80's?
