Hatton was clearly hurt, and the ref picked that particular time to have the longest break in the whole fight. that is no coincidence.
nor is it Hatton's fault. but that is just a garbage ref.

If you are saying this is no coincidence then you are calling the referee a cheat which is getting into very dangerous territory especially when you have absolutely no evidence to back up your claim.

That's funny. How many Hatton fans called Cortez a "cheat" with far less evidence to support it?

        Remind me.

          are you blind?

you Hatton fans have been saying that Cortez was biased for Mayweather just because he loves to break fighters the second they clinch(despite him doing this constantly throughout his career, and just being a lousy ref in general) and you cant even consider that maybe the ref preferred Hatton a little over Lazcano?

          amazing.

No, you are making a generalisation. I said that Cortez favoured Mayweather, I made no comment about whether it was deliberate or not. What you are saying is that the ref deliberately cheated to help Hatton win the fight which is not the kind of accusation you should be making without good evidence.

So when the ref warned Reid for nothing after he knocked Ottke down, he wasnt being biased either? interesting.

the shoe thing I can understand...maybe the ref is just an idiot. but that unwarrented break the ref gave at that exact moment when Lazcano did nothing but land a punch...thats something else.

Exactly, that's why Cortez has reffed so many big fights. Boxing refs are like baseball umpires, the best ones are consistent, although they may have different zones. I would ignore Mozza, he strung out on the pure dope, straight Ricky H

Incidents in other fights are of no relevance to this discussion. Each incident must be taken on its own merit and cheating on one fight would not prove cheating in another.

Whether the break was valid or not is a subjective matter. Sometimes referees make mistakes but I don't understand why you would automatically accuse the referee of cheating.

The ref was a dirty brit just like hatton and saved his ass.

Wow this Mozza character is the most biased I've seen in months. Gotta give it to him though, he's defending Hatton til the end while sounding as dumb as he is. Good stuff.
