Hatton Outfights Lazcano, Malignaggi Outlasts N'Dou

The ref did nothing to help Hatton...he needed his shoe laces tied. There was little hugging in this fight in reality, it was actually a very clean and action filled fight, any clinching there was, was initiated by Lazcano.

With that said, Hatton proved that he could never be a top level fighter in any division above LWW. He just takes too many punches too cleanly.

It's a shame to see that the old Ricky Hatton who would let his hands go in fast combinations has permanently been laid to rest. All he does is throw one or two shots and immediately clinch. He no longer likes to open up and take exciting chances. Ricky, like Bernard Hopkins has adopted a very boring style of hit and hold, hit and hold, hit and hold some more...and more...and more hit and hold.

Even if Ricky Hatton is your next door neighbor in the U.K., there is no way you can be a die hard fan of his anymore.

Rickiy did do a little holding but Juan was holding alot more. Look how much Paulie held in his fight.

This fight was very disapointing, The Ref was a definite Homer for Hatton, Did you see how he kept shoving Lazcano after every tie up? Hatton fought dirty as all hell during this fight and the ref still only warned Lazcano. There could have been a possible upset during that 10th round because Hatton was holding on for dear life to not take another shot to the dome but once again that ****ing ref got in the way and let him get his senses back and then gave him a chance to get some wind with the untied shoe.

To Me everything just kept falling in place too well, I smell a fixed fight if anything.

Lazcano didnt throw any of his big his right hands once in the last 2 rounds after the possible knockdown. It seemed as if he just stopped fighting all together.

I personally think that paulie will beat Hatton and beat him pretty bad unless Paulie keeps hurting his right hand, Paulie can mantain the distance between fighters which will put hatton in trouble similar to what Mayweather did, Paulie definitely has a chin as he proved to fight with a fractured face for 8 rounds with Cotto so I dont see hatton kncoking him out.

Neither fighter did much to create instant anticipation, as both managed wins in a pair of fights that weren't easy on the eyes.

Hatton's bout with un-retired American challenger Juan Lazcano went largely as expected, winning the majority of the rounds to take a unanimous decision in a clinch-filled encounter. Malignaggi's night didn't quite go as scripted, struggling to a split decision in a return go against Lovemore N'Dou in the televised co-feature.

Both bouts were aired live from Manchester, England on VERSUS, in a rare Saturday afternoon boxing telecast.

The first round appeared to be one giant clinch, with little happening between the two. Hatton controlled the action during the rare moments the two fighters weren't joined at the hip, though managed to get tagged with a jab flush enough to bloody his nose.

There was less clinching in the second round – always a positive sign for any Hatton fight, though not necessarily replaced by sustained action. Hatton came out far more purposeful in the third, landing a jab upstairs and a left hook to the body. An attempted follow-up was thwarted by a slippery logo, which caused Hatton to slip to the canvas. The clinching resumed midway through the round, though mixed in with enough two-way action – including a strong finish by Lazcano to make it the most enjoyable frame of the fight through the first three. malignaggi i thought lost his fight big, he might of landed more shots but not by many and the the more meaningful and hurtful shots were landed by n'dou.

anyway i wouldn't mind seeing the hatton vs malignaggi fight but it should be n'dou in the frame

WOW Ndou landed five big shots the whole night. maybe. shut up. alot of yall hate on malignaggi big time. I feel like I have to defend the guy and I am not even that much of a fan of his. You guys are brutal. I hope to see hatton lose to paulie. You guys made me hate hatton, whom I was a big supporter of. We need to get these Limeys to shut up once in a while. Either you were smoking crack when you watched that fight or you are delusional. Anyone who actually paid attention to that 10 round could see that Hatton was on the verge of going down. He may not have been knocked out, but he was definitely one good shot from going down when the ref stopped the fight to warn Laczano. That ref was obviously cheating. If he had to warn Laczano that sternly, he should have taken a point away. The crap the ref pulled looked like something you would see in a professional wrestling match, not a championship boxing match.

I actually expected alot more out of both Hatton and Lazcano, but thought Lazcano was going to take out Hatton fairly easily.

I wasn't aware Lazcano was that far from his old self. I thought for sure he was gonna plow Hatton late. Instead there was rounds where he probably only threw 3 or 4 punches. And Hatton, I knew he could get hit fairly easily, when ever he's in there with a intelligent puncher he usually does get touched up at will, but how the hell did he not finish Lazcano? I guess he was playin it safe.
