Povetkin vs Tua? I think this could be a great fight and a good stepping stone in the career of Povetkin. Its a big name that has been known for his great left hand. If Povetkin were to win this fight I think he could be in line for one of the belts and would give him great experience in the ring.

I'd watch it, but I think Tua is years past his prime and would be a relatively easy opponent for Povetkin. And whether he deserves it or not, Povetkin already is first in line for the IBF title.

      ** Sorry Scott.

I really like Povetkin, but even a diminished Tua is his stylistic nightmare. All Pot does is come forward and pressure. Tua is an extremely dense, larger, stronger package with extreme power. Maybe his timing and skills ain't what they used to be, but it looks like a brutal 4th rd or so KO by Tua to me.

That's the way I see it as well.

This is a fight that Povetkin should stay away from. I do not agree with the above posters who assert that a devastating, career altering KO from Tua is inevitable, in fact I don't even think it is likely, but I don't see the need for the risk. They are correct in saying that stylistically this would seem a possibility. Povetkin pressures, but Tua will not back up. Power is the last thing to go, and who knows how Povetkin could stand up to a fight of Tua left hooks. These are accurate, unbiased statements. Yet, Tua is washed up. Who knows what he could possibly have left. I'd more than assume that if he had anything left to give, he'd be giving it. I would expect Povetkin, who clearly has the capability to box a bit too by the way, to UD Tua. If I had to bet, that is where I would put my money. Yet, why risk it? Any number of other heavyweights would present much better matchups style wise. The reward just doesn't meet the risk in my opinion.

I sure don't see it ending that way. Tua is way too slow now. We'll definitely talk again if the fight ever gets made.

Tua isn't the same fighter anymore. Povetkin would win, it would be interesting to see how he reacts if Tua manages to catch him though.

That would be a good one. Hopefully if Arreola prevails against Witherspoon, which I think he will then he can fight Tua.
