He's on par, or even less achieved, than some of the 80s alpha champs that get bashed quite a bit.

He has less quality wins over top HWs of the time than guys like Mike Weaver (who gave a prime Holmes hell, not an old Lewis hell) and Tim Witherspoon. Vitali's tough effort against Lewis can't hold a candle compared to Spoon's legitimately controversial loss to Holmes in 83'.
