This is frustrating. I really enjoy watching Nonito Donaire fight. He's quick, powerful and a solid boxer. He's definitely smart in the ring although I think he was trying to hard to take Maldonado out early in his last fight, forgetting to box and took some shots that he normally could have avoided, not that it made much of a difference in the outcome.
Nonito Donaire: The Growing Frustration with Inactivity

It really is sad that a fighter like Donaire who has proven to be telegenic cannot secure a television date. Even if it's not on TV in America, going over to Philippines or elsewhere could do some great things for Donaire in terms of activity.
He has become a huge star in the Philippines, stardom mixed with idle time is a recipe for disaster with young fighters.Comment

Yeah it seems like Donaire needs to leave Gary Shaw. With the 115lb division being pretty good at this point moving up would make sense. I hope he get's a fight soon and it's on TV because I like watching him fight.Comment

If he has a valid contract with Gary Shaw he can't just walk away from it. It's like saying Albert Pujols should just go and play for the NY Yankees.Comment

Donaire has talent and is exciting to watch.Don't know why G.Shaw hasn't set him up for bigger fights!Comment

Something is going on and Im not about to blame it all on Gary Shaw...stories have many sides not just one or two.
With that said I think Donaire is an incredible young fighter that will be champ for many many years to come. His KO of Vic was awesome and like someone already pointed out was not a one punch victory it was a thorough 6 round ass kicking. His victory over Maldonado was about as perfect as you can be in our sport-his left hook is simply put one of the best shots thrown in the sport today.
I like many others will be waiting for Nonito's next outing!Comment
