if you guys want to talk business, look at proven winners like ODLH and Hatton and Trinidad - proven, LONE PPV box office and ticket draws.

now those 3 are case studies. not mayweather, he's the beneficiary of other peoples popularity ... kinda like a leach.

      How interesting.
You have missed the point completely so I'm not going to waste anymore time.

My post had nothing to do with that at all. Read the title of the thread then read my initial post.

Doesn't a real star prove that he can consistently bring other fighters up to his level at the box office, even if only for a night? Isn't that how big fights get sold in the long run?

            The real reality of boxing:

PPV and money may not count to you because you have a job and watching boxing is only a hobby of yours.

But to the fighters, that's their job. That's how they get a paycheck. They have no pensions and they don't get any guaranteed money.

They go where the biggest money is at period. You think Margarito would turn down a fight with Delahoya? You think he would turn down a rematch with Oscar even after defeating him? I don't think so.

This isn't to excuse Floyd, it's a fact of life and it's part of boxing. Deal with it.

Not possible. IF anything the numbers will be **** because of Cotto his fight with Gomez suggests.

Floyd with Judah did more PPV's then Cotto with Judah did.

                Nuff said.
