No matter what sport it is, there is always a reference to Boxing

for example, whenever there is a dominating Team in any particular sport, they are sometimes referred to as "the heavyweight". I just saw Doc Rivers pepping up the Celtics in the locker room saying how they need to keep "knocking them down and keep punching."

you hear it in hockey, basketball games, football, baseball etc.

    boxing>all other sports.

Even American Idol brought in Buffer and Lampley and used a boxing theme for their biggest Tuesday show of the year.

I'm going to assume you read that online somewhere.

this also includes mark jackson's love for the term "pound 4 pound"

example: "Allen iverson is pound 4 pound the best player at his size" lol

Too bad the US doesn't cover boxing for ****. If it was reported more on ESPN then I am sure Boxing would be more popular in the states.

That's true. I hear it all the time and in every sport basically. Boxing is a dominant sport. I'd rather knock a man out with my fists in a championship fight than hit a game winning three or home run or goal or score a touchdown to win it.
