Stevie Johnston needs to hang them up

He used to be great, now he's just a punching bag. He should've hung them up after the Lazcano fight. He's been fighting for child support money alone, not because he's a hungry fighter. He's also got a bad drinking problem; the car accident they mentioned on ESPN2 was the result of a drunk driving accident and his license has since been revoked.

I'd like to see him preserve his legacy as one of the most underrated and underappreciated fighters of the 90s. He has no business fighting this late in his career against guys like Edner Cherry who he would beat in his prime.

To bad for this guy he had an old school style of fighting, he's not like these other fighters now in days that are wayyyyyyyy to over defensive he gave the fans what they wanted to see a nice intertaining fight with a little bit of that sweet science. Much respect!

A lot of fighters now think they are slick because they run around and choose when they want to fight. Johnston used a lot of head movement to be offensive and still avoid punches.

I aggree little but bad was a very good Champion. I recall he beat a former welterweight Champion at 135 or could of been 140. And yeah, his boxing style is great which is why i became of a fan of his, he boxed but wasn't afraid to engage couse he was knew how to slip and bob and weave or faint opponets that a lot of shots missed him. He is passed it now. His reflexes and that way he was able to take a punch are gone. Lets remember he took Castillos punchs for 24 rounds. I recall seeing there first fight Johnson was out boxing Castillo easily, then Castillo turned it on but Johnson was in both fights very close fights.

With that sad, Im disappointed in Cherry, Rolando Reyes took out Johson a lot earlier. Prime Johnson he beats both. Its ****en sad if true that Johnson is fighting for child support meaning he has no money that would ****en suck for he was a great warriror in the ring!
