He wanted Douglas because Douglas was supposed to be a shell of a fighter, his father talked him out of it. I think he could've been Douglas if he was really shot.

even an inshape douglas, that showed up aganst tyson, and mike williams would seriously hurt roy, not as bad as bowe would, but he would **** him up

many people dont give enough credit to buster, and they truly dont know about his ability just by watching one tyson upset

ive seen quite a few of his fights, and the buster that comes into the ring in shape is no joke.

Yeah, but we're talkin about the 36 year old Douglas, around the time where he got KO'ed by Lou Savarese in a round.

Roy would have lost his confidence a lot sooner than 2004.

oh, well in that case i would pick roy to win easily, and quite comfortably. by then he was shot beyond belief. i saw him fight a club fighter monaco and he decked buster right after the bell in the first round. he basically knocked him out, but ref gave him time to recover. after 5 mins of sitting on the stool douglas refused to go on, and received victory by a foul or something. the man didnt even want to fight

but even if it was the douglas in the holyfield shape id still say roy has ****load of problems with him

We all know that because Douglas, despite being out of shape for that fight was a lot closer to his prime then he was against Louis Monaco.

Interesting side note: if that Monaco fight happened in the current times, Monaco would've got the victory instead.

A version of Douglas that throws 25 jabs a round would beat Roy Jones. The Douglas who waited on Savarese to kill him probably couldn't deal with Jones' speed.

                  because of the different rules.

but it was kinda sad seeing douglas loose like that. monaco is among the ****iest fighters. vitali klitschko on his way up knocked him out by pit pats. the guy looks massive in his upper body, some big guns, but cant fight for ****

when you loose to a fighter like that you definetly know you past it. but it's probably a good thing douglas didnt continue, the way monaco was rushing him, i could tell douglas didnt want to deal with pressure. his body language showed everything from the start.

i might catch a lot of **** for this, but douglas' jab was no worse if not better than holmes. left hand was his power punch, not so much in the right. but ive seen fights where he knocked fighters down with his jab. 84'' reach. a beautiful jab

If you thought that was bad, Leon Spinks not only got KO'ed by a guy in his pro debut, he lost to a 2-34-1 fighter. That's stunning.
