..INTERESTING Boxing Odds, Hatton, Abraham, Holt Included...

I was at bodog.com checking odds for some upcoming fights, and GOOD Lord, some of the bets seem like you could make some decent making on betting on the underdog. The bold bets on this list, COULD (I stress the the word COULD) definitely make someone money, if they go for the underdog. And it wouldn't be a stretch if you went with them, to most extents.

    Hatton -1100 / Lazcano +600
    Malignaggi -1000 / N'dou +550
    Williams -170 / Quintana +140
    Abraham -220 / Miranda +180
    Holt -325 / Torres +250
    Cotto -185 / Margarito +155

I don't know the Pacquiao/Diaz odds, but I heard they HEAVILY favored Manny. So, that's also interesting.

    Anyway, your take on this?

I place a decent amount of sportsbets, although relatively few on boxing. None of those odds are shocking, given the past of fighters and what they've shown. I would say Hatton's odds are a little higher than they probably should be, but he obviously should be a heavy favorite.

I think Williams Quintana is shocking. To an extent. But, I was referring to interesting. Nonetheless, those odds actually do shock me. I saw NOTHING in their first fight that would make me believe a different outcome will take place in the rematch.

You had a different impression than the oddsmakers and I then. I thought the fight, from the start, was clear that Williams completely overlooked Quitana and was made to look like a fool because of his own foolishness in doing so. In the rematch he'll use his size and put a much better fight plan in action. As the oddsmakers do, I favor Williams as well.

I'd be willing to bet you all your points that the opposite happens....

I bet real money, I use these points for ****ing with people. I don't need to pump out my chest w/ e-bets and seldomly, if ever, do. I'd also say that wreaks of overconfidence on your part. While I doubt it will be a wash, I think to suggest it'll be some 1 sided affair for Quitana is dismissive of the skills Williams has shown.

It's not overconfidence, anyone with a brain will have a doubt or two about a bet they make. Real or fake. But, there's no point in being shy about asking for a bet. I'd bet 30K on that fight with anyone. I happen to believe strongly in the outcome of the fight favoring Quintana. There's nothing wrong with that. You're putting down points/dollars. Let's say I WAS overconfident? Does it affect what happens? You'll win or lose, regardless.

Nonetheless, I know Williams is a talented kid, and has a good chance. That doesn't make me shy away from taking a bet, of any kind. And for the record, I make PLENTY of real money bets. This has nothing to do with that. I'm not hear to beat my chest. I just like the idea of knowing my track record, and it's something to get more people interesting in talking about the fight. If you don't want to bet, you can say, 'No.' I wouldn't be offended.

EDIT: It also doesn't need to be one-sided. I'm not betting on that.

Your wording seemed more combative, which changed my tone to somewhat insulted.

As far as betting goes, the odds aren't worth betting on either fighter. I tend to go for a lot of o/u on rounds in terms of the best value in betting boxing. None of those fights, on betting moneyline, are enticing. I just don't see value in any of those particular fights, except maaaaaybe Torres, and that is mostly speculation as to how he looks before the fight at the weigh in and whatnot.

Fair enough, just asking. I wouldn't try to be a **** to you in any way, you're one of my favorite posters on the site. If I was talking to someone else on this site, and this was brought up, I'm sure they'd have tried to turn it into someone WAY more. And I respect that about you, that you're reasonable.
