    How did Vargas beat Winky?

I've never seen the fight, so I don't know how it went down. Winky has definitely proven he is the better fighter of the two, so can someone please enlighten me as to how it went down?

Vargas was an HBO fighter with a fanbase. They always get the decision.

It was a very close fight, some say Winky won it but that goes to show you the old addage that "styles make fights" and that will never change.

Thats why people who claim to know everything that will happen in a fight, don't know ****.

Also, fighters change throught the years, some get better, some get worse. Thats why people that say that Margarito with 5 losses can't beat Cotto are either in denial, or just plain ******.

Margarito isn't evne close to being the same fighter he was back when he lost those fights very early in his career. Winkey wasn't as good as you seen from him later on in his career when he lost to Vargas.

It was a close fight with a high output of punches. I had Winky winning by a point.

The fight was very close could have gone either way to be honest but Winky lost the later rounds, Vargas was the young up coming fighter with a pretty good fan base wouldnt say he was exactly a star but he was marketed better than Winky was.

I was a massive insane Vargas fan at the time. He stayed on equal terms with Winky and may have landed the harder blows - because both guys were landing a ****load. I was told that Vargas had the louder more resounding shots from ringside.

I thought Winky won the fight based on his overall performance, he was always one upping Vargas.

Vargas would land two and Winky would come back with 3 of his own. It was back and forth, back and forth but I saw Winky always doing just a little more.

Youth and potential. and he wasted his potential, but he was a warrior so imo it was worth it. Vargas was on top of his **** back then..and here I was hugging David reids nuts circa 97
