if this fight were to do 350-370K without a countdown, without a 24/7 series which most HBO fights that meet or EXCEED those numbers have, how could that not mean that there IS general interests in that fight. It just seems like some of you are looking for a cop out in case it does match those numbers.

You're making generalized terms. Interest? Of course there's interest as it's two relatively fan friendly fighters who are meeting for, what most would assume, is an eventual shot at PBF. Where me mostly differ is you think if it does 350k that lots of people are tuning in who normally wouldn't, where I see that is simply the boxing faithful.

And I still doubt it does 350k, and 300k will be closer to the mark.

I think the biggest difference is the fight level that people around here are making it out to be... 2 ridiculously talented fighters fighting for WW supremacy and the winner is declared the next Jesus... I just don't think it's that way. If that were the case, 2 of the "biggest" fighters would surely do fantastic numbers, but it most likely wont.

you always underestimate fighters outside of the UK. If you can have one fight that promises to be fireworks it's this one. Floyd vs cotto wouldnt bring the action that this fight is going to bring. This fight is not about the talent. It's about two come foward warriors in the ring together. It's a clash of styles. Its a battle between 2 of top 3 ww's in the world. It's a rivalry continued mexico vs puerto rico. you obviously dont know about how intense, how hated, how passionate, and how exciting these rivalry is. But i understand since you are across the pond I wouldnt expect you to know what the rivalry is like just like i didnt care much for joe vs kessler.

WTF? that's some bull****, maybe not a 24/7 (even though I would watch it) but no Countdown?? this is by far one of the best if not the best fight of the year, how could they not want to do a Countdown for it? if it's the language, then it's some serious BS, Vazquez and Marquez had a countdown on Showtime and it was 90% in spanish, just with subtitles, why can't they do the same for Margarito-Cotto? I'm pissed.

Edit: The Vasquez Marquez countdown was a good show, guaranteed Cotto and Marg would be too.

I'm sick of this ****. Despite what you may think, just because you're an idiot, doesn't mean I favor people from the UK or have any actual interest in them or their fighters in the least. I hate Calzaghe and his style and wanted B-Hop to win, despite me stating Calzaghe would win. I favored PBF to wipe the floor w/ Hatton and declared it a mismatch months and months before it took place. Get off my ****.

As I stated earlier in this thread, Pacquiao-Morales II was hugely anticipated, despite Morales being outboxed by Raheem. Two tried and tested warriors in a rematch to the death... and it only did 360k. Just because a fight will be good doesn't mean the general public will tune in.

This fight is not about the talent.

At least on Margarito's end of things it's not.
