So on ****************** they say Juan Diaz will NOT fight Joel Casamayor in houston but instead Michael Katsidis here in Houston. Joel Casamayor is scheduled to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on a later date. This thread is about Diaz-Katsidis so please try to keep it on track and not stray off on talk about the other fight. Although its a meaningful and amazing fight lets put it in a new thread shall we?

This will be the fight of the year.

Juan Diaz wins a close decision in a blood and guts war.

Great fight that Diaz should take by a close decision if it happens.

Word is that Diaz manager Willie Savannah kept thinking about the clever and frustrating style of Casamayor and that he finally told the Goldens he would prefer the simple style of Kastidis. It is believed Savannah kept asking for an opponent they could "showcase" Diaz against and that his argument was that, win, lose or draw, Casamayor could make Diaz look bad.

Diaz and the rockchinned “Rocky” from Down Under stick to their Sept. 13 date and the Houston venue.

Katsidis by bloody TKO in the 9th after being knocked down in that round.

Should be one barn burner of a fight.

Damn! I LOOOOVE when 2 great fights are formed when 1 good fight falls apart.

Like when Taylor-Calzaghe fell apart, and we got 2 great fights in Calzaghe-Kessler and Taylor-Pavlik. Both FOTY candidates.

However, JMM will wipe the floor with Casamayor.

And Diaz-Katsidis is AAAAAAAAWSOME!!!!!!! Can't wait if this is true. They should def chuck it on the undercard of DLH-Mayweather 2, although these 2 definetly deserve to fight in front of their own fans.

Id pick Juan Diaz by TKO/KO. He would hit Katsidis at will, and even though i could see Katsidis coming back after a very rough beggining to pound away and Diaz's body and maybe stop him late, i think a Diaz uppercut will eventually stagger Katsidis, and Juans follow up combos are breathtaking. I think Katsidis could be actually out cold in this fight, due to an accumulation of punishment
